The 4th of July is a time for picnics, and hotdogs, and bar-b-ques, and potato chips and ice cream. I like all of that.
It’s also a time for fireworks. I’ve seen a lot of them. I saw fireworks in New York city once…. well actually across from New York city/Manhattan. Mommy took me to the river and we watched for a long time as booms and lights exploded in the sky. There were lots of people saying ooohhh and ahhhh……
I gotta say it wasn’t my favorite time. Mommy knew and she took me back inside even though the booms and lights kept going.
Since then she has never made me watch fireworks. She stays home with me and Benj Benj Benj and we bark at the booms and let her know they are loud and scary.
One year we got a treat EVERY time there was a big boom. That was a fun game.
For all those of you who love this day, Happy 4th of July. I know you like the fireworks so I hope you get to see some. I’ll be happy when the doors and windows are closed and I get a nice long nap.
